INFORMACIÓN
Gears of War: Judgment es la nueva entrega de la gran saga exclusiva de Xbox 360 creada por Epic Games. En esta ocasión será un desarrollo de People Can Fly, creadores de Bulletstorm.
El juego será una precuela situada 15 años antes de lo sucedido en el primer Gears of War, con un argumento situado durante los acontecimientos del Día de la Emergencia, el primer encuentro con la poderosa raza Locust. Los protagonistas serán el Pelotón Kilo, formado por Damon Baird, Augustus Cole, Sophia Hendricks y Garron Paduk.
Será un juego mas amplio en cuanto a la narrativa, e incorpora un sistema llamado Smart Spawn System, que aumentará la variedad de situaciones durante los combates variando los enemigos que aparecen y sus acciones en diferentes partidas. Habrá un nuevo modo de juego llamado Overrun, que tendrá características de los modos Horda y Bestia.
El próximo 4 de Junio se celebrará la Conferencia de Microsoft en el E3 2012, donde habrá nueva información de esta nueva entrega de la saga.
ARGUMENTO
Los integrantes del Pelotón Kilo, el ingeniero Damon Baird, el soldado y ex jugador de Thrash Ball Augustus Cole, la médico Sophia Hendricks y el explorador Garron Paduk han sido acusados por el Coronel Loomis de ser unos traidores y unos desertores.

Además, todo parece apuntar que se trata de una precuela, dado que los dos personajes aparecen bastante más jóvenes respecto a lo que estamos acostumbrados a verles en la serie.

Before this sarcastic, genius mechanic went on to help Marcus Fenix save the world, Baird worked his way through the Gears ranks. He’s always quick to joke, but Judgment suggests there’s more to his character than being a comedian.
Augustus Cole:
A former Thrash Ball player turned soldier the "Cole Train" became famous in Sera for his on-feild performance and boisterous demeanour. Cole met Baird soon after enlisting, and the two quickly became best friends.
Garron Paduk:
A miltia refuge from the Union of Independent Republics. Garron comes from the other side of The Pendulum Wars. He brings a new perspective and brush personality to Kilo. Garron is the devil on Baird's shoulder that say's "Let's blow stuff up."
Sophia Hendricks:
A cadet from the onyx guard academy, she is more in line with colonel loomis by the book approach to combat. E-day halted her path to graduation from the academy, but she is still worth the soldier. She is the opposite of Garron, ready to suggest informing superior officers of every deviation from protocol.

Gears of War: Judgement is set 15 years before the original Gears of War. The characters we mentioned yesterday are in fact the four playable characters in Judgement, Baird, Cole, Sofia and Garron, all of Kilo Squad, and are standing trail for desertion, cowardice, trespassing, theft of experimental military technology, and treason. Thus, Kilo Squad is formed and their missions begin, take down the Locust Horde.
Considering how early the game takes place during the Locust invasion, you’ll be facing more Locust than ever before, making the small scales battles from the original trilogy, feel like a skirmish compared to what will occur in Judgement. The characters of Kilo Squad will narrate their version of the story, while you relive their flashbacks. While the game will still put a focus on story, cinematics won’t be used as often in Judgement as they were in Gears of War 3, as the characters will narrate the story on the fly, so the action never has to stop. Remember the walking sections where the characters would hold their fingers to their ears for a radio chat? Yeah, you can say goodbye to those.
Environmental storytelling will play a major role in Judgement, The invasion occurs just after the Pendulum Wars ended, so the citizens of Sera were enjoying their celebrations, only to be interrupted by the Locust invasion. During the segment that GameInformer was shown, Kilo Squad is traveling through an area where a parade was occurring, celebrating the end of the war. Confetti and banners litter the streets and buildings, along with destroyed floats lining the streets. You’ll be happy to know that even though People Can Fly has taken the reigns of development, the game will not be all that different from previous Gears of War games. One of the biggest changes mentioned in the article, is that the controls have been streamlined to a FPS style. The ‘Y’ button will be used to switch weapons and the left trigger will be used to throw grenades. Along with the controls being streamlined, the combat is returning back to where it started. Emergence Holes will spring up out of the ground, unleashing Locust hordes and can be closed by chucking a grenade inside. The AI will also be a heck of a lot smarter this time around as well, they will recognize your movements, positions and the difficulty level will not only increase enemy health, but change the amount of Locust that will take part in each battle.
